Our client is an internationally operating manufacturer within the FMCG industry and specialises in high-quality, sustainable packaging solutions for the beverage market. At the production site in Oss, millions of products are manufactured every day within a high-tech and highly automated process environment. Safety, quality and continuous improvement are key here. For this location, we are looking for a Process Superintendent Chemical Process (day shift): a key role for someone who knows how to combine chemistry, technology and leadership.

    In this position, you will be responsible for everything to do with chemical processes within production. You ensure that machines, installations and systems function optimally and that chemical compositions are applied correctly, safely and qualitatively.

    You lead a team of chemical process operators and maintenance engineers and are the substantive point of contact in the field of chemistry, hazardous substances and laws and regulations. You also play an active role in improvement projects and long-term optimisation of processes and installations.

    Your duties and responsibilities:

    • Managing, supervising and developing the chemical process team (±15 employees);
    • Ensure optimal operation of chemical production facilities and peripheral equipment;
    • Responsible for mechanical maintenance on washers, cooling water systems, water treatment and cooling towers, among others;
    • Monitor and optimise product quality through correct application of chemical compositions;
    • Point of contact for external agencies, suppliers and internal departments in the field of chemistry and hazardous substances;
    • Preparation of annual plans and budgets including investment proposals;
    • Develop long-term maintenance and capacity plans;
    • Establish, monitor and improve safety standards (EH&S);
    • Manage chemical supplies and consumables;
    • Establish and execute maintenance programmes and resolve complex breakdowns;
    • Perform in-depth problem and chemical analyses and advise on improvements;
    • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects;
    • Ensure compliance with safety, work and environmental instructions.

    • Completed MBO+ or college education, complemented by knowledge of chemical processes;
    • Knowledge of laws and regulations surrounding hazardous materials;
    • Understanding production processes, machinery and facilities;
    • Experience in maintenance, improvement and investment projects;
    • Strong organisational and planning skills;
    • Leadership experience or clear ambition in this;
    • Good command of the Dutch and English languages;
    • Safety-conscious, analytical and proactive.
