Will you travel the world as a Field Service Engineer to work for our client that specialises in the development and production of high-precision lithography systems, including electron beam and laser lithography?
These advanced technologies are used for research and small-scale production, with applications in the semiconductor industry and nanotechnology, among others. Do you have broad technical knowledge, extensive troubleshooting experience, an analytical attitude and hands-on precision mechanical key skills?     Your main duties/responsibilities in this role:

    • You will start with an intensive 'training-on-the-job' where the complex technology will be mastered;
    • You will deal with various aspects of systems, from analogue and digital electronics to high-precision mechanics, ultra-high vacuum and high-voltage technology;
    • You will adequately build and diagnose the systems and provide training to the customer where it will be installed;
    • Management and reporting of assigned customer cases, including: performance of periodic maintenance, fault diagnosis and execution of repairs;
    • You maintain close cooperation with both the production and engineering departments;
    • You travel for about 70% of the time within the region and internationally (overseas);
    • You will prepare upcoming tasks and perform support activities when not travelling.

    • Bachelor level by education or experience in a technical field, with sound knowledge of electronics (analogue and digital) and proficiency in (fine) mechanics;
    • 5 years' experience as a (Service) Engineer in complex instrumentation used in a semiconductor environment;
    • Good PC and software knowledge (Linux) is essential. Knowledge of electron optics, high voltage and vacuum technology is a plus;
    • Passion, analytical thinking skills and a customer-oriented attitude are required to work independently after about six months;
    • Proactive attitude and driven to understand and operate complex machines and programmes;
    • Able to meet committed deadlines, even under pressure;
    • Good command of the English language - and willingness to travel and work with people from diverse cultures;
    • Customer focus, perseverance and diplomatic skills are necessary;
    • Able to work independently while contributing to strengthening the team by sharing knowledge and participating in projects.

    Additional requirements:

    • In possession of an EU residence and work permit;
    • Resident in the Netherlands or willing to relocate to the Netherlands at short notice. You will work from a home base in the Netherlands, preferably within reasonable travel distance of an international airport;
    • Willing to travel about 70% of the time.
