About vacancy

Does the prospect of getting long-term production planning properly organised make your heart race? Are you able to weigh up the relevant considerations in a technical manufacturing environment to arrive at the right solution? Then we’re looking for you!

    • As a Production Planner, you are the linchpin between the moment materials become available and the moment a fully assembled, tested machine leaves the premises;
    • As soon as the Material Planner reports that an order is complete, you take over;
    • You decide when an order is picked, the order in which items are assembled, and what that means for the lead time;
    • You monitor progress from release right through to testing and dispatch, and you take action as soon as the actual situation deviates from the schedule;
    • Material falls out, a fault occurs, a test does not go as expected, or a customer changes their requirements; you reprioritise, highlight the implications for the other orders and communicate the new date back to those involved;
    • You don’t just point out the problem, but you come up with a workable alternative;
    • In addition, you will review the long-term planning;
    • You can anticipate upcoming peaks and troughs in workshop workload before they occur, and you can make the necessary arrangements in good time to cope with them;
    • That means that planning here is not a matter of simply postponing work in sequence, but of constantly finding the right balance between available materials, available staff and agreed delivery dates.

    Our client designs and builds technical systems intended to produce, store, transport or utilise materials at extremely low temperatures for customers worldwide. Virtually every machine is built to order and is technically different from the previous one.

    • At least a completed higher professional education (HBO) qualification;
    • Several years’ work experience as a Planner in a technical manufacturing environment, preferably in customer-specific or project-based work involving small batches;
    • You’re familiar with an ERP system (knowledge of Isah is an advantage) and you can work with work orders, bills of materials and routings without needing anyone to explain what you’re looking at;
    • Furthermore, this role requires a certain type of personality; you need to be confident enough to stand your ground when defending a deadline to a Project Manager, whilst at the same time being flexible enough to work with the team to find a solution;
    • You are able to persuade others using figures and arguments;
    • You’re good at keeping an eye on the big picture;
    • Good command of the Dutch and English languages in word and writing.
