We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a leading bioenergy plant in Tilburg. Working alongside a close-knit team of around six colleagues, you will ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant, where organic waste streams are converted into green gas, a 100% renewable fuel.

    As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on various systems. You will play a key role in preventing breakdowns, improving technical processes and ensuring the production facility operates at its best.

    You will work closely with colleagues and external parties and will be given plenty of scope to take the initiative and suggest improvements. As the team is small, you will have a direct influence on day-to-day operations and the organisation’s future development.

    Your responsibilities

    • Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on systems and equipment;
    • Identifying, analysing and helping to prevent technical faults;
    • Carrying out and managing calibrations, inspections and tests;
    • Recording work, faults and material consumption in Ultimo;
    • Managing spare parts and warehouse stock;
    • Maintaining and improving installations and rolling stock;
    • Supervising maintenance work carried out by external contractors;
    • Act as the technical point of contact within the team;
    • Contributing to technical improvement projects and optimisation initiatives;
    • In due course, take part in a 24/7 on-call/standby rota with the associated remuneration.

    Our client is developing a bioenergy facility for the processing of organic waste streams. The facility will produce approximately 23 million m³ of biogas per year. Part of this biogas will be upgraded to green gas for the Dutch gas grid. This green gas can, for example, meet the annual gas consumption of around 2,700 households and plays an important role in making the Netherlands more sustainable.

    • A completed Level 3 or 4 MBO qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a similar field;
    • Technical insight and strong problem-solving skills;
    • Experience of maintenance work in an industrial or technical environment;
    • A proactive and independent approach to work;
    • Safety and quality awareness;
    • Experience in the bioenergy, process industry or agricultural sectors is an advantage;
    • Willingness to work day shifts and to be part of an on-call rota.
